On April 13th, join thousands of Surrey locals and visitors in celebrating mother nature! Surrey’s annual Party for the Planet event is British Columbia’s largest Earth Day celebration.

Join us at Surrey Civic Plaza for a day full of fun, information, and activism supporting the environment. Check out the event’s Live Green World, where you can attend environmental workshops on gardening, sustainable living, and native plants, or do some meditation. There is also a sustainable marketplace where you can shop for locally made goods that support small businesses and help you live more sustainably. Plus, check out and engage with other organizations such as the Surrey Art Gallery, the Port of Vancouver, and the Museum of Surrey. You can even try out the event’s official beverage: a smoothie made in a blender that is powered by you riding a bicycle!

Thrill seekers can enjoy the Adventure Zone, featuring a zipline, rock climbing wall, road hockey, and much more. And if that’s still not enough to pique your interest, you can explore the vast array of food trucks (Japanese-style hot dogs, anyone?), check out the tree and plant sale, and, if you’re quick enough, snag one of 1000 free succulents being given away at the event.

There’s no better way to show your support for the planet and learn about environmental sustainability while also having a blast. Party for the Planet is totally free to attend, so bring along as many friends and family as possible. 

If you’re staying with us at Comfort Inn & Suites Surrey, it’s easy to get to the event. Those with a car can get there in less than 15 minutes (and take advantage of our free parking). Those without cars (or who want to practice sustainability by taking public transit) can take the bus and be there in just 25 minutes - just ask our friendly staff for transit information and we’ll be happy to help you out.
