The holidays only come once a year, bringing about dazzling lights and festive scenes. Be sure to make the most of this season by soaking up all the festivities Surrey has to offer!

Light Festival at Bear Creek Park

Trees will sparkle, displays will dazzle and lights will hang throughout Bear Creek Park for seven nights from November 4 to 10. Every day is different, from family fun festivities on the fourth to a Diwali-inspired night on the sixth! This event is free to attend and will have an activity zone, food trucks, roving performers and more to get everyone in the holiday mood! Be sure to double check the schedule for the Light Festival in advance.

21st Annual Winter Ice Palace

Lace up for a seasonal themed skate in Surrey. The Cloverdale Ice Arena transforms into a winter wonderland, filled with magic and complete with an old fashioned pond. This winter wonderland runs from December 21 to January 6, 2019. If you don’t have skates with you, there is the opportunity to rent skates on site for a small free. Feel free to write down the address of Cloverdale Ice Arena so you don’t miss it!

Heritage Christmas

Looking for a change? Experience the holiday season the Victorian way this year at the Historic Stewart Farm! Taste festive treats and learn how to make a new craft on each day of Heritage Christmas. This event runs from noon to 3 pm every weekend in December with more dates added right after Christmas. But you’re going to want to mark December 8 in your calendar so you don’t miss the Christmas Open House! From 11 am to 3 pm, start the season off right with a Victorian decorated Christmas tree, live music and the famous man - Saint Nick, himself. Time travel into this cozy holiday scene and check dates in advance

Surrey Tree Lighting Festival

On November 24, welcome in the holiday season with the city council as they flip the switch at 6:30 pm and light the city’s spectacular 58-foot Christmas tree! Before the big reveal, enjoy live music, festive crafts, and activities throughout the day. This event takes place in Surrey City Hall Plaza from 12 to 7 pm and more details are found on the 2018 Surrey Tree Lighting Festival website

Once you’ve skated and stomped around in the cold, come back to a cozy haven where the quality holiday time can continue. Comfort Inn & Suites Surrey has complimentary hot breakfast to warm you up before your daily travels, an Olympic size swimming pool if you want to pretend it’s summer vacation, and it is located in the heart of Surrey while being a short drive away from Downtown Vancouver.

Make the most of this upcoming holiday season with those you care about most. Book your stay in advance to avoid a disappointment!
