From big screen to stage: Get your entertainment fix in Surrey this August!

  • June 20, 2018

Surrey is more of a cultural hub than ever before! This August, there are lots of great and unique ways to stay entertained right here in the city - from family-friendly fun to date night ideas, here are 3 events to check out this August:

Movies Under the Stars | August 5-26

Don’t stay cooped up inside! Take advantage of warm summer nights by getting your movie fix in the great outdoors. There will be free outdoor movies every Saturday night in August at the beautiful Holland Park, less than a 15 minute drive away from Comfort Inn Surrey or just 20 minutes away by public transit. All the movies are great for family night outs with the kids: Catch Lego Batman on August 5th, Sing on August 12th, Moana on August 19th, and Beauty and the Beast on August 26th. There will be activities and entertainment starting at 5 pm, and movie screenings will begin at dusk - there will even be free popcorn!

The Heart of Robin Hood | August 15-20

Head to beautiful Crescent Beach for an amazing performance by the local Beach House Theatre. From August 15-20, Beach House Theatre presents The Heart of Robin Hood, a play which has received critical acclaim all over the world. The familiar characters of the Robin Hood tale are presented with a modern twist, for a story that has everything from romance and comedy to adventure and riveting sword fights. Tickets start at $34.50 and shows start at 7:30 pm.

The Commedia Tales of King Arthur | August 16-20

Also at beautiful Crescent Beach in South Surrey, Beach House Theatre will present The Commedia Tales of King Arthur from August 16-20. Perfect for younger children and young-at-heart adults, this play is full of your favourite characters from the legend of King Arthur, including the wizard Merlin, the Knights of the Round Table, and Guenevere. These beloved characters are a little clumsier and sillier than usual, and their hilarious adventures (and misadventures) are sure to be fun for the whole family.

With free parking at Comfort Inn Surrey and a great central location, you’ll be able to see the sights of beautiful Surrey, BC and beyond! Whether you’re watching a flick at Holland Park or enjoying live theatre at Crescent Beach, staying at Comfort Inn Surrey makes things easy.
