The vibrant city of Surrey, British Columbia is perpetually hosting big events of all shapes and sizes. Each month, the city’s calendar features festivals, concerts, exhibits, and everything in between—and the coming April is no exception to that rule!
 
One of the highlights of Surrey’s calendar of events this April is an event called Party for The Planet. This event—which surprisingly doesn’t fall on Earth Day—goes down on April 14.

This awesome event goes down at Civic Plaza, on 104 Avenue. The biggest feature of the crowded schedule this year is a concert from Canadian singer-songwriter and five-time JUNO award winner Sam Roberts, who will also take the stage for an acoustic set during the event. Other musical guests include Vancouver based children’s musical duo Bobs & Lolo, rising pop and R&B group Star Captains, DJ collective The Freshest, and finally, children’s favourites like Rockin’ Robin, the Colin Bullock Duo and the Smile Band.
 
Of course, that’s not where the excitement ends…
 
In addition to these musical guests, this event will feature an awesome tree and plant sale, a rock climbing wall, a number of rides, an exciting zip-line, a bike-powered smoothie stop (we’re not kidding!), storytelling events, children’s craft events, road hockey, an urban farmers market, plenty of food trucks and a bevy of area vendors. Exhale…
